Pickup on the festival morning itself, with the city already in its best clothes. Your guide explains which Eid this is — Al-Fitr after Ramadan, or Al-Adha around ten weeks later — and teaches you the greeting you will use all day. Timings are confirmed close to the date, because Eid follows the moon, not the diary.

We watch the Eid morning unfold from a respectful distance — families streaming from prayer grounds, children in new outfits, embraces on every corner. Non-Muslims do not join the prayer itself, but the spectacle around it is the emotional heart of the day. Your guide narrates what you are seeing and why it matters.
10:00 · Gahwa at the majlis
You are received majlis-style for cardamom coffee, dates and Eid sweets, served with the formal warmth the occasion demands. Your guide walks you through the rituals — how gahwa is poured, when to shake the cup, and the Eidiya tradition of small gifts pressed into children's hands.
11:15 · The city in its best clothes
A slow drive through a dressed-up capital — flags out, families promenading on the Corniche, the mosque gleaming for its biggest week. It is the best people-watching of the year, and your guide knows where to pause for it.
12:00 · The festive table
Lunch is the Eid feast — typically slow-cooked ouzi or machboos with the trimmings, the dishes families across the Emirates are eating at the same hour. It is abundant by design; pace yourself accordingly.
13:30 · The festival afternoon
Each Eid brings its own public programme — heritage shows, markets, entertainment — and we fold in whatever suits your group before dropping you back, typically around 13:30 to 14:00. Evening fireworks are a separate outing; ask us and we will arrange the timing around them.

Insider tips

Book early. Eid week fills hotels, restaurants and drivers faster than any other date in the calendar except New Year.
Carry a few small banknotes. Eidiya — small cash gifts for children — is a lovely tradition to take part in, but ask your guide before offering.
The morning is the cultural heart of Eid; the evening is fireworks and funfair. If you want both, split the day with a rest in the middle — the gap is when locals nap too.
Expect final confirmation only days ahead because of the moon sighting. Treat the small suspense as part of the occasion.
Use the greeting. 'Eid Mubarak', said to anyone, returns more warmth per word than anything else you will say all trip.

Questions, answered

When exactly is Eid — can I book it in advance?

Eid follows the lunar calendar and is confirmed by moon sighting only days before, so published dates are provisional until then. Book against the expected date and we hold it flexibly; final timings are confirmed once the announcement lands.

What is the difference between the two Eids?

Eid Al-Fitr celebrates the end of Ramadan and has a lighter, sweeter character; Eid Al-Adha, about ten weeks later, is the more solemn feast of sacrifice with an even stronger family-table tradition. The experience runs for both, and your guide tailors the storytelling to whichever it is.

Can we watch the Eid prayers?

From a respectful distance outside, yes — and the sight of thousands arriving at dawn is remarkable. Non-Muslims do not join the congregation; Muslim guests who wish to pray should tell us so we can time the morning around it.

What should we wear?

Smart-modest is the note — it is the best-dressed day of the year and turning up polished is itself a courtesy. Shoulders and knees covered, and something comfortable for a warm morning outdoors.

Are attractions open, and how bad are the crowds?

Major attractions typically open for Eid and draw the year's biggest family crowds, while government offices close. We route around the crush — it is one of the main things you are paying us for that week.

Should we bring gifts to the majlis?

Not expected — you are the guests. If you would like to, a small box of sweets or something from your home country lands well, and your guide can advise on the day.

What happens after you book
