Hatta Mountain & Dam Adventure

Hatta is Dubai's mountain enclave, an hour and a half from the city and a world away from it. The road runs through red dunes and into the Hajar Mountains, and the morning is at Hatta Dam, a lake of improbable turquoise between bare rock walls. Two hours here is enough to hire a kayak or a pedal boat, or simply to walk the shoreline; the activities are run on site and paid for there.

Hatta Heritage Village, a cluster of restored stone and palm-frond houses with a fort and watchtowers above them, shows how the mountain communities lived. After lunch at Hatta Hill Park or a mountain café, the afternoon is at Hatta Wadi Hub, where archery, ziplines and marked trails wait for anyone with energy left. You are back in Dubai around half past five.

The price is for the whole vehicle, not per person: the Kia Carnival seats seven, and every other car listed below carries its own price for this day. Pickup and drop-off at your Dubai hotel are included; kayaks, boats, Wadi Hub activities and lunch are paid on the day.
