Sharjah sits directly beside Dubai and feels nothing like it. UNESCO named it the cultural capital of the Arab world in 1998, and it has built its museums to match. The finest of them is the first stop: the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization, a former souk on the waterfront whose galleries run from calligraphy and astronomy to ceramics and coins.

- Traffic between Dubai and Sharjah is heaviest at the start and end of the working day, which is why this tour leaves at nine and returns at one.

Is Sharjah different from Dubai for visitors?
It is more conservative: dress modestly, with shoulders and knees covered, and alcohol is not served anywhere in the emirate. Otherwise it is relaxed and welcoming, and the museums are some of the best in the region.
Is the museum open every day?
Its hours vary through the week and are shorter on Fridays. We check the times for your date when you book and reorder the morning if we need to.
Can we change the order or add a stop?
